Professional title and applicable professional rules
The statutory professional title “Rechtsanwalt” was awarded in the Federal Republic of Germany.
The legal profession is governed in particular by the German Federal Lawyers’ Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung - BRAO), the Rules of Professional Practice for Lawyers (Berufsordnung für Rechtsanwältinnen und Rechtsanwälte - BORA), the Specialist Lawyers’ Regulations (Fachanwaltsordnung - FAO), the German Lawyers’ Remuneration Act (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz - RVG), the Act on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany (EuRAG), and the Code of Conduct for European Lawyers (CCBE Code of Conduct).

Out-of-court dispute resolution
In the event of disputes between lawyers and their clients, out-of-court dispute resolution may be sought through the Frankfurt am Main Bar Association or the conciliation body of the legal profession (Schlichtungsstelle der Rechtsanwaltschaft).
